Until May 24, Stardust Circus will have their tent pitched at Penrith Paceway, offering talent and adrenaline under the red-and-yellow big top.

The Weekender spoke with aerialist Chrystie Toth and ringmaster Jake Larkin who described the show as two hours of action-packed fun.

“We’ve got a little bit of everything and something for every age group,” Larkin said.

“We have animals including dogs, goats and pigs, we’ve got flying trapeze, we’ve got the wheel of death, high wire, and a massive Teeterboard Springboard act. You’ll see things here that you won’t see anywhere else in Australia.”

The level of talent and the family-oriented feel is what sets Stardust Circus apart.

“It’s a family-run show that is six-generations deep in performers. It’s filled with love and hilarity and will put a smile on your face,” Toth explained.

“We also have history-making acts that you won’t find anywhere else.”

The circus comes to Penrith almost every year, giving locals a chance to get up close and personal with the performers.

Amazing performers wow at Stardust Circus.

“The seating goes all the way around the ring, and the seats have backs, so they are comfortable. It’s an intimate setting – nothing’s too far away from the action,” Toth said.

“For the kids, we have games for them to play outside, and we have a canteen that serves all the circus favourites like dagwood dogs, fairy floss, popcorn, and delicious donuts.

“We also have rides, including a teacup ride, a jumping castle, and a swing ride – there is a carnival feeling to it. Everything opens an hour before showtime, so everyone can have a little fun before going inside and kids can get their wriggles out before the show.”

Each performer has a favourite act that they cannot wait for locals to see for themselves!

“My ultimate favourite act is the flying trapeze; it’s a passion of mine. We have some young flyers up there who are doing feats you won’t see anywhere else in the world,” Toth said.

“My favourite would be the Teeterboard Springboard act. It’s always non-stop action with trick after trick. It’s our biggest act with the most people in the ring. You have to catch your breath,” Larkin added.

And a word of warning from Toth: “Be prepared to be part of the show!”
