Executive Producer Clint Salter is the creative mind behind the brand new show ‘Season Squad’, coming to inject some energetic fun into kids and parents alike at The Joan this school holidays.

“We’re a brand new company and we formed really to do this show. This was the original concept from Clint… he had this idea for this show and he wanted to produce it himself, so he formed Wonderlane Entertainment,” producer Amy Matthews said.

Centering around the magical town of Calendar Grove, we meet Sunny, Chill, Blaze and Bloom, guardians of the seasons. Each responsible for keeping the seasons turning each year, these fun loving characters keep the world in perfect balance.

That is however, until Sunny convinces the others to abandon their seasons and keep the world in perpetual summer. Before too long, chaos ensues and the seasons must work together to restore the balance before it’s too late.

Teaching the value of teamwork and friendship through song and dance, this show promises to pull on the heartstrings while keeping the groove going. But fear not parents, you might just find yourself dancing along as much as your little ones.

“It’s designed to be appealing to the whole family. The songs are written by Jason Pennock and Matt Wong, and they’ve written songs for Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix…really popular style of songs and really in at the moment with the kids,” Matthews said.

“At its core it’s about friendship and identity, and really is just showing that everybody has their place, no matter if you’re more showy like summer or if your vibe is just chill and you’re more relaxed…you belong in the grand scheme of things.”

With high-energy dances, catchy pop songs and plenty of laughs to be had, ‘Season Squad’ is the ultimate show for not only a good time, but to add a little science into the school holidays.

“It’s a lovely story with a bit of science and geography in it as well, about the importance of seasons turning and what each season does for the Earth,” Matthews explained.

“I think the music is really the heart of this show and really drives the story. The singing and dancing in turn will be spectacular, but those writers are top tier, they’ve written some big hits. I think people will come out singing the music and having the music stuck in their heads for a while.”

Wonderlane Entertainment chose to debut their company with ‘Season Squad’ so families could experience the magic of live theatre together and create lasting memories. They are also looking to expand their catalogue in future.

”Not just for kids, but for adults as well, and more music based dance shows as well. So, watch this space,” Matthews said.

‘Season Squad’ is playing at The Joan on Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7. Tickets are available online at www.seasonsquad.com.au or via thejoan.com.au.
